Senior Project Manager (Canalside and Interchange)

Salary £48,070 to £50,879 p.a.

Civic Centre, City of Wolverhampton Council - Two Year Fixed Term Contract

This is an opportunity for a skilled property professional from either a public or private sector background to deliver a significant mixed-use development scheme of regional importance.

The opportunity to lead on a nationally significant regeneration programme does not come along every day. The Interchange project is already underway. The project will see a new Railway Station with associated commercial development. The scheme also includes new commercial offices. The first buildings have been successfully constructed and let. We now want to build upon that momentum. The Canalside area is a vast tract of land in the heart of the city. The University of Wolverhampton is already on site and delivering major new buildings in the ‘Canalside Knowledge Quarter’. We have designated ‘Canalside South’ as the next big priority. The land is in the ownership of four principal public sector partners who have agreed to come together to create a major regeneration scheme. The exact nature and type of development will not be overly prescribed, we want someone to work with the public sector partners and the development industry to come up with proposals for Canalside and Interchange that will be both special and transformational for the city. We are looking for someone with outstanding inter-personal skills who also has the patience and attention to detail to implement a scheme of this scale. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who wants to build a reputation for delivering major regeneration sites.

About you
We are looking for a high-calibre Project Manager to lead on two major development programmes. Interchange is underway, and you will need to show strong negotiating and commercial skills. Canalside is being prepared for development with the objective this will be a scheme of regional and national importance.
